Born on the 31 January 1975 in Shimla, india. She was never from the family that has exposure in acting movie. While the father and her elderly brother was in Indian army officer. Her mother and her younger brother reside in California. Unfortunately, her father was killed in a ghastly motor accident but her mother survived with heavy injuries.
She was lived at Jesus and Mary boarding school in Shimla. She graduated from Saint Bede’s College with a major in English. Then, she proceeded to another degree in criminal psychology. She ventured into business world through a slightest opportunity as she took part in Cadbury Perk’s commercial.
She never thought she would be an actress But Kapoor saw her in the Liril commercial and liked her so much that he instantly decided that the next film he would announce would have her in the lead.
She proceeded to assume a liril girl and part of the rest of the ads. Then she found her way to film industry. she made her first appearance in shekhar Kapoor’s, Tara Rum Pum Pum with Hrithik Roshan was eventually halted following her featuring in Mani Rathnam’s Dil se.
And another offer soon came by, Kundan Shah's Kya Kehna (2000). The film was the first, Preity had actually begun shooting for her first release which was Mani Ratnam's Dil Se (1998). The film was a hit . Later Abbas-Mustan's Soldier (1998) that Also was a hit at the box-office Then confirmed she was here to stay. Though Kya Kehna (2000) was her first film, but it released in 2000 and was the surprise hit For her.
Then She came in Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and Dil Hai Tumhaara (2002) was appreciated and liked by all and that has made her an actress with in Bollywood. Her screen presence, charm and down to earth nature has made her the favorite actress of almost all the directors and producers. With banners and films like Rakesh Roshan's Koi...
