Meera was born on 15th July 1976 in Lahore. She started acting in school plays and went on to model for  commercial products while still in high school. Meera went to Lahore's Kinniard College and continued to act in school plays, however at this point her modelling career really took off as she appeared in ads for Pepsi and Lux while still in her mid-teens. She continued to model for various agencies in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad and became one of the country's top supermodels. .. She signed with two directors including Samina Peerzada who was making her debut as a director in Inteha (1999). Peerzada signed Meera on as the lead in her directorial debut - and Meera was sensational. Inteha went on to become a bit hit and Meera was named the Best Actress of the year for her breakout performance. Despite having spent 4 years in the film industry, Meera prefers working in fewer films than her co-stars. This according to Meera is because she prefers modelling to acting and is therefore committed to appear in a limited number of film projects. She is still one of Pakistan's top models and continues to appear in Lux and Pepsi's ads - which helped launch her career.

The bewildered Pakistani actress Meera is always in trouble on what she does or says at times or the other. In reference of her latest blazing remarks about Indian director Mahesh Bhatt, Meera has apologized saying it just a prank.
The campy actress Meera reached Mahesh Bhatt office in Mumbai to apologize him. She convinced him saying, “I was just making fun of it, you are my Guru, I have learnt a lot from you”; yet Mahesh Bhatt remarked about Meera, “she is an artful lady”.
Meera is known for her tongue twisting English and versatile acting skills in Pakistan but what force can take her behind from her ambitions!! This time she is testing her luck in music industry and has dived into releasing her own ‘Mausiqui’ album.
Speaking to media, Meera claimed her love for music and explained that she is hopeful about her album and once she will practice singing will finalize the lyrics and tones for her songs.

                       Mariyah Moten started modeling for local boutiques and charity fashions shows at the age of 16. Few years later she signed on with First Models Modeling Agency.

          

After placing Top 5 at the Miss Pakistan National Competition, she went off to represent Pakistan at the Miss Tourism Queen International pageant in 2006, where she won the Miss Charity Title among 87 other contestants. Later that year she competed in the Miss Bikini of the Universe pageant which was held in Beihai, China. 

                                                        This created an outrage among the Muslim community in Pakistan and all around the world. This was the first time a Pakistani girl has participated in a bikini pageant representing the Islamic nation. Due to this controversy, Mariyah Moten won the Best In Media/Miss Press title for being the most photographed and interviewed contestant in the entire pageant.

A year later in 2007 Mariyah Moten participated in another pageant, Miss Asia International 2007 where she won 2nd Runner up, a huge victory for Pakistan since this was the first time Pakistan placed in the Top 3 at an international beauty contest In September 2009, Mariyah represented Pakistan in the Miss Intercontinental which took place in Minsk, Belarus. Miss Afghanishtan, Zallascht Sadat, also took part in this beauty pageant making it the first time for two Muslim contestants to take part in beauty pageant during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The finals were held at the Football Manege Arena in Minsk. The 38th annual pageant was attended by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko and was shown live all over Europe by ONT TV. Mariyah Moten continues to model in the US and has attended the New York Film Academy Acting School to pursue an acting career.

However, it was her break in the light teen comedy College Jeans that prompted her career in television. The show was directed by another NCA graduate Jawad Bashir and cast her alongside Ali Zafar and other prominent TV personalities. Soon after she was invited to host a show called Rhythm for Prime TV where she interviewed musicians from all over Pakistan including veterans like Arif Lohar and Shazia Manzoor.
